Dear Besties 💌 Best New Music, Lesbian Crush's, Lucy's New Aesthetic & More!

FREE EDITION ☁️ What it feels like to have a lesbian crush...

a discovery playlist featuring weekly top 10 music releases

  1. Lucy Dacus- Ankles: To say I am obsessed with this song and the music video is an understatement. As a huge fan of fine art and art history I am so obsessed with this Renaissance aesthetic. Lucy being in a love song era is exactly what I needed.

  2. Samia- Bovine Excision: this song feels like being in a existential crisis during sticky hot summer day … and I love it! Shoutout Diet Dr. Pepper shoutout Edgar Degas, yet another reference to art history… I’m loving it.

  3. jasmine.4.t- Your Are The Morning: If you haven’t listened to this album yet I need you to asap. Produced by all 3 members of the boygenius trio, backup vocals from Claud and E.R. Fightmaster, and of course Jasmine herself is brilliantly talented.

all the biggest things that happened online this week

  1. Before you know it the ATG lineup is gonna be out to the world…

  2. Kristen Stewart features on Lord Huron’s upcoming single!!!

  3. This was kinda insane if you think about it…. (Lucy x Julien)

  4. What if feels like to have a lesbian crush

  5. I got some dope a$$ memories with people I’ll never f*** with again

  6. THIS is my moment…

  7. I googled “best place to eat out” and…

  8. Is this Kylie Jenner and Timmy Chalomet?

things that i’ve been super into lately that i need to share with you guys

  1. Ok plugging my own fit first because I haven’t felt this cool or inspired in a hot sec. The striped shirt is thrifted from Gap, the pants are thrifted Real Tree. I also paired this with my green Arcteryx toque…. I love neutrals but I’ve been looking for more ways to make my outfits more interesting and pairing contrasting patterns definitely did the trick for me.

  2. I’ve been so insanely into Lucy Dacus’s new aesthetic… I’m such an art history girl! If you’ve also been obsessed, I’m gonna let you in on a secret playlist of mine that’s still a work in progress… each song either references a famous painting, or just matches the vibe of walking around an art museum. I’m pretty stoked on this one.

  3. I recently discovered the brand SBA label and I think the pieces are so adorable and elegant and just cool. I’d wear the Ruched Vest in brown over a white button down with cool low waist pants… just drooling at the thought. The pieces are all made to order as well which is the cherry on top.

new movies and tv shows on my radar right now

  1. A Real Pain: I just saw this movie, starring Kieran Culkin and Jesse Eisenberg, and fell in love. It’s quite funny, but in the end it’s about complex people and relationships, emotional scars and suffering, empathy and understanding.

  2. I’m super excited for the live action How To Train Your Dragon movie…. here’s another look at the upcoming movie!!!

  3. Severance is back for season 2 and it’s all over my timeline! I’ ve heard nothing but phenomenal things (including a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes) that have all convinced me to check it out…. I’ll keep you posted on my thoughts

What does life look like for you right now?

I'm home now from being on tour all year, and it feels so good. Spending my days writing and walking and hanging out with my friends that I've been missing this fall :)

Ins and outs for this month? 👑📅🫶

In: long long walks, dancing, cooking at home, quality time with the people i love

Out: really long drives, feeling bad for resting when you need it, eating any kind of fast food

What’s your favorite hobby right now? What’s a hobby you want to get into this year?🛹🧘‍♀️📷

rock climbing !! I've been obsessed bc it's such a nice blend of physical exercise and mental problem solving and It's also super social and I get to meet a bunch of people I never would've otherwise!

Fashion pieces you’re interested in lately? 👜👡🧥

I'm obsessed with this big fuzzy neon orange scarf I just got in Portland, Maine while I was on tour!

Piece of media that’s influenced you 🎼🖼️🎬

Honestly the movie About Time taught me so much about presence and I really love the message of it a lot so in a lot of ways it changed my life therefore probably influencing my work as well!

What’s your favorite winter activity?🎆🤪🙈

Walks in Shelby Park here in Nashville! I loveee that place this time of year, just bundle up and go for a cozy lil walk. It's so peaceful and the sound of the train passing and tee ball games in the distant is so nostalgic :)

Describe your recent work by a color/season/mood/something interesting🍂🌨️🌼

I would say my album, even though it came out in the summertime, it feels like early fall when you're getting that first glimpse of crisp air and the leaves are starting to turn.

Is there an artist you’ve seen live that blew you away? 🪕🎫🎤

Not an artist, but Big Thief was unreal live

What are you listening to right now?🎧📻💿

An unhealthy amount of Hejira by Joni Mitchell, it's mostly about touring and being on the road so it's very meta to be in the van listening to it, but I love it.

What song/lyric are you most proud of? 📓🪞💌

I'm most proud of this song Empty House that hasn't come out yet, but I recorded and played everything and actually mixed it from the road when I was on tour and I'm so happy with how it turned out! It's coming out on Dec 13th!

What’s a lyric you think about often?📃🏹💭

the opening line of the alice phoebe lou song "only when i"

"You didn't teach me, I taught myself through you. You didn't heal me but I healed from the things that you do."

What’s your dream collab?🫂🔮🫧

Bruce Springsteen is probably my number one, not only because he's an icon but also because he's still got it! I saw him play in Kansas City with my dad a couple years ago and he played for 2 and half hours non-stop and sounded amazing, even though he's literally in his 70s
