a discovery playlist featuring weekly top 10 music releases
Blondshell- Event of a Fire: Iāve been awaiting this album for what feels like ages and this song is definitely a favorite. Written during a haze of tour burnout and inspired by a real 4 a.m. hotel evacuation, itās raw, cinematic, and quietly devastating.
Indigo De Souza- Heartthrob: Indigo is BACK and Iām so for it!! This song feels so much like her first album which is super fun. I cannot wait for her next album, out July 25!
Briston Maroney- Better Than You: Definitely a standout from his freshly released album JIMMY, this track channels raw self-reflection into a grungy, guitar-driven anthem. Itās Briston at his most unfilteredāmessy, ambitious, and completely magnetic.

all the biggest things that happened online this week
Doechii in Louis just sounds so right and looks so good.
DJO was having far too much fun at his show in Philadelphia.
The Beaches are all of us talking about Boygenius (except theyāre actually way calmer than me).
Lordeās Met Gala look is a beautiful insight on gender identity.
Perks of Being a Wallflower being this guys favorite movie is so endearing.
Katie Gavin is my roller blading queen. What a satisfying way to listen to this song.
Oh, to be Clairoās cat clutch on the blue Met Gala carpet.
Lucy and Joy sang Bullseye together last week!
We love guessing who Sally is going to be at a Role Model show and whoās going to do the apple dance at the next Charli show.
Jenna Ortega and Sabrina Carpenter at the freaking Met Gala.

things that iāve been super into lately that i need to share with you guys
Lately Iāve been obsessed with bright, chunky, beaded necklaces, which have been all over my pinterest board, and decided to make my own! It was actually super easy? All you need are beads from your local craft store, embroidery floss that matches, a needle, and jewelry fasteners. Thereās nothing like wearing something you made completely by yourself and getting so many compliments!
New Lorde has me reminiscing big time ā hereās a playlist that feels like the lyric āIām 19 and Iām on fireā.
Of COURSE the Met Gala was this week and the looks were insane. More people were on theme this year than Iāve ever seen before, and the looks were all top tier. Itās too hard to pick a fav look but here are some standouts! For anyone still wondering what the theme ātailored for youā means, hereās a fantastic explanation!

movies, tv shows, and actors on my radar right now
Coleman Domingo is a co-chair of the Met Gala this year, and he started serving looks at the pre-conference.
I saw a crazy movie this weekend called āThe Shroudsā. This interview sums it up really well. Itās one of those movies that makes you remember Black Mirror is just scratching the surface of creepy technology.

BOTW: Lucius
Lucius is an American indie pop band formed by vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig. Known for their lush harmonies and retro-inspired sound, they gained acclaim with their 2013 debut Wildewoman. The group has collaborated with artists like Brandi Carlile and Roger Waters, and just released a self titled album.
What does life look like for you right now?

Jess: Rehearsing like mad for this new record release tour .. and learning how to balance that with being a new mom. Itās hard! But so rewarding. Watching my baby nap while I learn bass lines. Pumping and playing. Rinse and repeat.
Whatās your favorite hobby right now? Whatās a hobby you want to get into this year? š¹š§āāļøš·
Jess: I wish I had more time to spend in the garden. Itās such an amazing feeling to have your hands in the dirt, smell and eat the fruits of your labor. Iāve spent a good amount of time out there the last several years, and itās just really starting to become something magical. Later this year⦠making the worldās best baby food for my little guy. I remember my mom cooking for me as a kid. How much it influenced my senses and my desire to connect (around the table/in the kitchen). And heās already so excited just watching me eat.
What fashion pieces have you been into lately? ššš§¢
Jess: been really into wild accessories. Weāre such a visually inspired band, so we have so much creating a world / a landscape for our music, and much of that involves what we wear. For this tour, our friend, Tierre Taylor, handmade us these incredible woven hats with oversized crowns, inspired by a photo I found from the 60s. There are vinyl cat eyes cut into the brim, and the hat sort of lowers onto your face, so the brim covers your actual eyes. So fun and bizarre. Speaking of head pieces, Also love Those rad headscarf glasses on the Prada ss25 runway.
Piece of media thatās influenced you š¼š¼ļøš¬
Holly: Maybe for this upcoming tour I'll go with David Lynch's The Red Room - Twin Peaks...we've referenced Lynch many times over the years as far as visual concepts for the record and tour. Musically I struggle a bit to pinpoint one, between the four of us we have a cauldron of musical influences we're cooking with.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? š¦øāāļøā”ļøšøļø
Jess: Well.. this can go two ways: Humor or humanity.
Iād take a āHeal the sick/heal the worldā button.
Any interesting/silly/fun recent tour anecdotes? šš¤Ŗš
Holly: May have to get back on that one as we haven't left yet, but we are bringing TWO babies on the bus this time so I'm fairly certain those stories are coming!
What artists are on repeat for you right now? š§š»šæ
Jess: Hannah Cohen. Such a beautiful record she just released called āearthstar mountainā.
Describe your recent work by a color/season/mood/something interesting ššØļøš¼
Jess: mailboxes and old tvs, lawn chairs and flamingos, microwaves and coffee mugs and ash trays and tree swings, dangly keys and ice cream trucks, hammers and spoons and birthday cakes, Vinyl floors and orange blossoms, sunsets and sun risesā¦all kaleidoscoped and swirling around in a kidney bean shaped pool of highly pigmented colors
Is there an artist youāve seen live that blew you away? šŖš«š¤
Holly: I saw Bobby Mcferrin perform once at Oberlin College and he was just as superhuman of a musician and vocalist as you'd imagine.
Whatās your hidden talent(s)? Proof encouraged⦠ššš

Holly: I have hitchhikers thumb? I can bend them back really far. I used to be able to shake my eyeballs but it's super bad for your vision and I'm already blind as a bat so I stopped that. Yeah otherwise pretty useless.
What have you done as an artist that you are most proud of? Whether it be a song lyric, a music video, a performance, etc,. š„¹šš
Jess: weāve been true to our creative selves in each of our life chapters. Weāve made different types of records, never sticking or conforming to one set way of doing something. And we get to do it together.
Top 4 favorite films? šļøāļøš„
Holly: Amadeus, Labyrinth, Eat Drink Man Woman, Origin
Are you excited to play All Things Go? ššāļø
Holly: Absolutely - the lineup looks awesome. As for the vibes and the fans I imagine we're about to find out, I like a good surprise.
Where do you see yourself in 10 yearsāmusically and personally? š¤š¶š¼
Jess: Hopefully continuing to evolve and createāMore comfortably, more freely, more expansively than ever before. Visualizing something and having the ability to see it come to life without hesitation or restriction.
Iāll probably have a few more gold rings on my fingers, playing gin rummy with my husband in our deck, watching the kiddos get their hands dirty, cooking some good meals and sharing it with friends.
