3. Madi Diaz, Lizzy McAlpine- For Months Now (III): Madi Diaz released a deluxe album that included this collab and … Lizzy’s voice works so well on this song and really adds to the heartbreak and emotion

1. First and foremost, happy Halloween to the queen of the holiday, Ms. Phoebe Bridgers. Here’s a few of her iconic costumes and outfits

2. Halloween is indubitably my favorite holiday so of course I have a playlist for it— listen here for witchy tunes

3. My girlfriend and I dare I say had the best costume of the year… we dressed as Jo March and Laurie from Little Women (my favorite movie of all time) and I fear we ate

1. There’s truly nothing like a good Halloween movie/TV show— here are some of my favorites and where to watch them:

   • Pearl (Netflix): an A24 film about a serial killer who is also just a girl

   • Over the Garden Wall (Hulu): The most wholesome Halloween vibes— a must watch that’s cute yet spooky

   • The Haunting of Bly Manor (Netflix): lesbians and ghosts! What more could you want in a mini-series

   • Jennifer’s Body (Hulu): such a classic with a killer soundtrack (that pun was not intended but if the shoe fits!)

2. Jack Antonoff showed support for his wife Margaret Qualley’s new movie Substance by posting this photo of him facetiming her on the set

 What does life look like for you right now?

Honestly, I’m in a big era of rediscovery. Writing new music and making new sounds that feel relevant to my life and where I’m at now. Trying to make music that feels so authentically me and collaborative with people who encourage that and push me to be better. Lots of under the radar music making. Besides that, working on a farm in upstate New York during the fall season has been a really nice break music. I get to spend so much time outside and really work on my people skills. Lots of long walks/runs in the brisk fall air.

 Ins and outs for this month? 👑📅🫶

Ins: Long walks, Dunkin medium iced coffee with almond milk and a pump of butter pecan, The Sopranos, crying, ghost hunting videos on youtube, making $$, soup, self care, vegetables, hoodies, long drives with windows down

Outs: sleeping in, drinking, fomo, overthinking, tank tops (it’s sweater and hoodie season), forgetting to take my vitamins, buying clothes I don’t need, being scared to make new friends

What’s your favorite hobby right now? What’s a hobby you want to get into this year?🛹🧘‍♀️📷

Is exercising a hobby? I don’t know this year I’ve just been trying to be on my health grind. I started running and I love it so much. Has been meditative and I get to explore new places all the time. Exploring is fun while also getting my steps in. I’d like to get into being a better reader. 

I know it's cliche maybe, but I read so much as a kid and I feel like I was so much more imaginative because of it. I miss my fiction fantasy books and getting lost in a story.

Fashion pieces you’re interested in lately? 👜👡🧥

Oh gosh so much. Y2K - Ive been super into twilight themed shirts and hoodies, I don't know, it’s my vibe. Giant baggy pants as always. Real tree camo pants/ hats. I love not being seen. Baseball caps. Comfy hoodies. Jordan 4s- I’m on the lookout for a pair I love. The brand Stüssy overall. A large black leather purse. Anything in the Hello Kitty or Sanrio world. I love fashion. Very inspired by it.

Piece of media that’s influenced you 🎼🖼️🎬

Honestly, not sure if there’s anything I feel like has super directly influenced my work just yet. Definitely other artists (Dora Jar, Bon Iver, Radiohead, Pinegrove, Coldplay). I think this year I’d like to look to other forms of media for inspiration though. I feel like my music has been pretty biographical so far and yeah, inspiration from other things sounds exciting.

What's your favorite fall activity? Fall snack/treat?

Fav fall activity is def my long walks, hoodie on, headphones blasting like Radiohead or Bon Iver or Porches or some nostalgic ass music. Snack or treat would probably be an iced coffee from Dunkin with almond milk and a pump of butter pecan or just like any soup at all.

Describe your recent work with a color/mood/season

Navy Blue , uh lover girl era, imagine the spark that like shoot out when you’re welding. Think nostalgia.

What song/lyric are you most proud of?

So far I think my most proud song and most proud lyrics are different so I’ll share both. 

The song I’m most proud of is ‘Need’ from my latest EP, ‘Car Sick’. I explored sounds and a writing style I’ve never done before and it all came together so organically and yeah I don’t know I really feel so strongly that it’s like an incredible song. My favorite lyric is also off that EP from a song called ‘Fold’. I think just every lyric in the song. I love the story it tells. I’m so incredibly proud of my writing. I would suggest just listening to the song haha I wouldn’t wanna write it all out for you.

What’s a lyric you think about often?

“Strange how a phone call can change your day, Take you away. Away from the feeling of being alone, bless the telephone.” from ‘Bless the Telephone’ by this incredible artist Labi Siffre. I live a bit of a ways away from most of my friends and my partner who I've been with for a few years now. This song just has such a special place in my heart and whenever I feel lonely or miss them I listen to it and shed a tear or two.

What’s your dream collab?

Bon Iver for sure. Hands down. Yeah. That’s the one.
