2. Annie DiRusso - Good Ass Movie: I instantly fell in love with this song when Annie played it at ATG last year and I’m so stoked it’s finally mine to play on repeat. This whole album is full of bangers, but I’d expect nothing else coming from her.

3. Kevin Atwater - Call Of Duty: Kevin knows just how to make me cry. His storytelling is unlike anything else— this is so intimate and revealing and leaves me hanging onto every verse.

1. This Australian shop Itadaki makes the sickest and cutest reversible tops that are also sets! My favorite by far is the green/blue color and I’ll definitely be eyeing their restock…

2. I’ve been really leaning into my slow mornings lately and truly think this is the perfect soundtrack for making my morning latte and doing my skincare. 

3. Paris fashion week has produced so many cool celeb looks but as always! nothing will beat Doechii or Chappell Roan.

1. I saw Mickey 17 in 4DX on premiere night and it was awesome, kind of worth the splurge? Naomi Ackie is going to be in Sorry, Baby and The Thursday Murder Club this year, and Robert Pattinson is going to be in Die, My Love and The Drama. Huge year for both actors!

2. There’s only two episodes of Severance left, and it is the easiest show to plan a watch party for.

I just joined a Dungeons and Dragons group that I am super excited about!! Also have been crocheting/collaging/reading a ton.

My debut album “Achilles” has definitely been influenced by a ton of the media I was taking in at the time of writing and creating the world of the album.

Movies such as “Beach Rats,” “Monster” (the 2024 Japanese movie specifically), and “Aftersun.”

Books such as “Young Mungo” by Douglas Stuart, “Blackouts” by Justin Torres, “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” by Ocean Vuong and of COURSE “The Song of Achilles” by Madeline Miller.

As for music, I had been listening to “Illinois” by Sufjan Stevens, “Hannah” by Lomelda, and the Spring Awakening Original Broadway Soundtrack (bangers).

Any interesting/silly/fun recent tour anecdotes?🎆🤪🙈

I’m currently gearing up for a tour in April/May, but I remember the time that we stopped at a hotel that kept giving me cardkeys to rooms that were already occupied with people… (I walked in on slumbering people caught unawares at least 3 times), and then they tried to make me stay in a room that was inexplicably filled to the brim with microwaves ... which felt like a fever dream… at 2:00am. I went back to tell the desk attendant that the room she wanted me to stay in was piled with microwaves (and also there were no beds) and I heard her violently throwing up in the bathroom for 20 minutes. Almost gave up but eventually got a room and stuffed 3 people on a twin bed. So restful!

Describe your recent work by a color/season/mood/something interesting🍂🌨️🌼

My album “Achilles” is like taking a job cleaning out the house of someone you vaguely knew (but were always particularly fond of) who is no longer here, and stumbling upon a mysterious old tape recording in their warmly lit basement and listening to the entire thing in one go with your mouth slightly ajar, realizing halfway through that you probably shouldn’t be listening to the tape because of its deeply personal subject matter…but listening anyway because you’re nosy.

Every time I see Indigo de Souza live (I’ve seen her 3 times) I ascend to a different plane of existence.

I have really been on a Perfume Genius kick recently. Also albums I’ve been obsessed with are “Any Other City” by Life Without Buildings and Lianne La Havas’s self-titled. Masterpieces.

I have a soft spot for the chorus of one of my earlier songs called “ashes.”

But I’m particularly fond of this line from “Jamie’s Daydreams” (second track on the new album): “I’m not scared of anyone cause I’ve never needed saving,” which within the context of the song takes on multiple meanings (my favorite songwriting trope).
